    Dear Rutland County Council, The 30 mph on the way into Langham from Cold Overton Road is missing. The existing sign on the right hand side of the road is covered in detritus and is not in the driver’s eye line. Therefore, there is virtually no signage to signal to a driver that they are entering a 30 mph limit. I raised this issue on Monday this week on this platform but on Tuesday the matter was marked as closed as being a ‘duplicate’. However, there does not appear to be a duplicate issue open for the same problem. Please do not mark this as closed without a comment/explanation as to the planned works to correct the issue. that way, I can update our village WhatsApp group as to the progress. Photos taken by passenger in vehicle. Thanks.

    The 30 mph leading into Langham along Cold Overton Road has been missing for ages. I believe a car ran into it and it was never replaced. The sign on the right hand side is not in the Driver‘s eye line. This means that there is no obvious demarcation to tell a Driver that they are entering a 30 mph limit. Could this please be fixed as soon as possible, thanks.

  • Silt and blockages under bridge corner well street and church street, 25th August

    Removal of the silt under this and other bridges in Langham was agreed following severe flooding in 2024/25. I understand from Councillor Hemsley that this work is Scheduled for September 2026. Please confirm when it is happening. Really need every possible action to be taken to reduce flood risk and worried there is no relevant contact as the flood risk officer has left.

  • Footpath overgrown due to long grass, 19th August

    The footpath along this stretch ( See map for location) has really long grass making it extremely difficult to walk. The farmer has now ploughed the field right up to the footpath which has made it nearly impossible to walk now.

  • Lights out on lamp posts both side of the roundabout and signs been turned round so it can not be seen by cars approaching the round about, 12th August

    For over 4 weeks the lights have been out on the round about signs and the give way signs have been turned around, so that on coming traffics do not stop as the road markings have worn away and the round about marking are in poor condition. This is a route to school and there has been several near misses.
