My family moved to Rutland in 1997 settling in Oakham before moving to Langham in 2018 after our 2 children had flown the nest.
I am a company director, working in Corby, and my background is in engineering and manufacturing management in large companies before establishing a small specialist metal finishing company.
I am passionate about Langham and hope to play my part in making it a great place to live and play and a community to be proud of.

I moved into Langham in 2015 with my wife and 2 children having been a resident of Rutland since birth. I run a small local technology company and have recently decided to take a less active role in the day to day running of the business. This leaves me with free time to dedicate to other activities.
Joining Langham Parish Council will allow me to assist in building a better community we can all be proud of.. I am great believer in team work and I am delighted to join the parish council team.

He has had contact with many different cultures whilst living and travelling overseas.
Steve has a passion for equal access for the less abled amongst us and manages a community website promoting the provision of ceiling hoists in away from home accommodation.
He is also responsible for the design and management of the Parish Council's new website.

I have lived in Langham since 2009, and before that in Leicestershire since 1991. After being involved in education, finance and latterly manufacturing industry during my working life, I have now retired and so have more time available to try to support the community in Langham as a Parish Councillor.
I was involved in the formation of the Langham Neighbourhood Plan, and as a member of the Steering Group continue to support its ongoing development and relevance. As a Parish Councillor I hope to be able to keep informed of the key issues that affect the community, listen to their views, and so contribute towards ensuring that Langham continues to be a village in which the whole community is happy to live and call home.

Deputy Chairman
I joined Langham Parish Council(LPC) in early 2011 (when I was known as Pat Lee). A retired company director, I retain strong business links working as a consultant specialising in Business Leadership and Culture.
In my time serving Langham on LPC I have led the fight against the proposal to build an Anaerobic Digester near Langham Crossing - a fight that resulted in the withdrawal of the proposal.
I also led a group of Parish Councillors and residents, under the auspices of LPC, in producing the Langham Neighbourhood Plan - a document that gives Langham a legal say in planning decisions that affect the parish.
As a Parish Councillor I know that my job is to be well informed about matters that affect Langham, to ensure I do all I can to keep the community well informed about such matters, to seek the views of the community and then to fight to get those views heard and acted on.

PC Chairman
Brenda Palmer grew up in Nottingham, lived for much of her working life near Peterborough and moved to Langham after her retirement. She was a Wing Commander in the RAF Air Traffic Branch and left after 22 years going on to a number of senior executive positions in the public and charitable sector before finishing her working life as Chair of Cambridgeshire Probation Service.
Asked about the best bits of her working life she would say: managing air traffic for the Harrier Force at Wittering, Chairing a NATO Working Party, running the Ministry of Defence department for all airfield air traffic policy and equipment, winning a £¼ million National Lottery grant for the charity she worked for, reorganising the administration of a top university architectural faculty and presenting awards to young offenders who have turned their lives around.
Brenda has been on Langham Parish Council for 4 years, Chair since 2017 and is a member of the Langham Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group. She believes the Parish Council should deliver its services efficiently, be pro-active, respond to parishioners’ aspirations, support local facilities and activities and aim to improve quality of life for the whole community. She is particularly interested in preserving and enhancing the local environment, improving road safety and encouraging community involvement.

I am Gail Palmer and have lived in Langham since 2003 but have links with the area as my husband was born in Oakham and his family still reside there. I was a Primary School teacher in Portsmouth for most of my career but have spent over 10 years teaching in local schools within Rutland.
Now retired, this is my second term serving the community on the Parish Council, I have been on the Finance and Planning Committees and the Steering Group of the award winning Neighbourhood Plan. I have tried to integrate myself in Village life, having been a member of the WI. being on the Village hall committee and helping out at many Fund Raising events
I have spent my life listening, responding and being proactive. This is where my strengths lie, and I believe transfer well into being a Parish Councillor. I am passionate about retaining our Conservation Village whilst realizing that we must adapt to’ modern day living’ and look to the future of our village.
I believe the Parish Council has a duty to listen to our Parishioners and act appropriately.

My family has lived in Langham since the 1960, and I’ve lived here for the last 25 years. My work background is in teaching and then industry. I’m now semi-retired, but still consult on medicine and food regulation, particularly for the Health Food Manufacturers’ Association, of which, latterly, I was Director and CEO and am now President. I love living in Langham, and have been involved with various Langham village committees/initiatives over the years, including WI secretary, Village Hall Trustee, Street Market organiser and Neighbourhood Plan member. As I have a bit more time now, I hope I can be useful to the Parish Council and the village.
