Provision of long-term burial grounds in Langham.

Langham Parish Council are seeking the opinion of Parish residents regarding the future provision of a burial ground within the village.

Background

  • Langham’s current burial grounds are reaching capacity with just 5-years burial provision and 20-years cremation provision.
  • Parish Councils are not obliged to provide land for burial but can do so if that is what the community wants.
  • LPC needs to decide what to do for the best – and that decision depends very much on your views, and whether you favour cremation or burial:
  • If the majority favours burial, then your Parish Council would need to try to purchase land for that purpose.
  • If the majority favour cremation, then the need for additional land purchase is less pressing.

We need your help to inform our decision by ticking one of the boxes below before the end of September
